I have been practising massage therapy since 2004 when I received my initial qualification in Swedish Massage from the Fife School of Massage and Complementary Therapy. Since then I have taken further courses of study in Sports and Remedial Massage, Hands Free Techniques, Active Isolated Stretching, Neuromuscular Re-education and Scar Tissue Release.
I am also qualified in therapeutic treatments including Indian Head Massage and Hot Stones Massage.
In order to advance my techniques further in Sports and Remedial Therapy, I completed my Advanced Diploma in Remedial Massage with AMTS in September 2014. The course provided intense training and in-depth anatomy and physiology in:
Each client is individual and throughout my treatments I will often use a combination of techniques according to the duration of a condition and presenting symptoms of the client. A full consultation and medical history will be taken and reviewed prior to any treatment taking place.
I am a registered member of the Scottish Massage Therapists Organisation (SMTO). Members of the organisation are required to complete a minimum of 18 hours continuous professional development (CPD) on an annual basis. Additionally I am a registered member of The Complimentary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) and hold a current certificate in emergency first aid.
